Image compression for quality 3D reconstruction

Abstract A 3D mesh can be reconstructed from multiple viewpoint images or a single structured light image. Lossy compression of such by standard techniques as JPEG at high ratios lead to reconstruction being adversely affected artifacts and missing vertices. In this paper we demonstrate an improved algorithm capable without affecting with minimum data loss. The starts applying block DCT over the input image, transformed quantized using optimized quantization matrix. coefficients each are arranged 1D array saved other block’s in larger matrix coefficients. DC subject first order difference whose values referred residual array. AC reduced eliminating zeros saving non-zero mask 0 (for zeros) 1 non-zeros). Finally, arithmetic coding is applied both arrays. At decompression stage, regenerated scanning examining headers substitute zero data. This then added obtain original values. IDCT proposed has been tested varying sizes context reconstruction. Results that our superior traditional higher perceptual quality ability reconstruct models more effectively, for sequences images.
